Kevin Doxey

Kevin A. Doxey previously served as a principal advisor to the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering. In this capacity, he was responsible for exercising direction, planning, management, and coordination of the Defense Science Board. As such, he provided direction on critical Defense Science Board issues and special programs of interest to the Secretary of Defense, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering. He was also responsible for ensuring that the Defense Science Board operations are conducted according to all applicable laws and regulations.

Previous civilian and military assignments include the Director, Strategic Integration in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, where he developed strategic guidance, governance structure and programs to institutionalize an integrated government approach to support contingency operations. As the Senior Military Advisor to Chairman, Defense Business Board he guided and facilitated reviews, directed by the Secretary of Defense, to obtain a business perspective on national security matters. At the operational level, he provided advice to the Combatant Commander and the Commander, Combined Force-Afghanistan on war planning and execution of security and reconstruction operations. While deployed in Afghanistan he led the coalition effort with the Islamic Transitional Government of Afghanistan to establish a reformed Afghan Ministry of Defense. Previous key leadership position in the Office of the Secretary of Defense included Director, Environmental Restoration, and Director, Environmental Quality.

Mr. Doxey has a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the National War College, National Defense University and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Southampton College, New York. His personal awards include the Department of Defense Medal for Exceptional Civilian Service, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal and Army Commendation Medals.
